ODOR/AROMA: A top note, strong floral scent, smells like the freshest and most amazing lavender, less camphoraceous than French or 40/42, smells like fresh lavender, COLOR: colourless to pale yellow.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: A woody evergreen shrub, up to 1 meter tall, with pale green, narrow linear leaves and violet blue flowers. The entire plant is covered with oil glands which are in the star shaped hairs that cover the plant. Differences in soil, altitude, weather, temperature, precipitation, and seasons contribute to subtle changes in the scent from one lot of Lavender to another.
COMMON USES: The Lavender of choice for soaps, candles, perfumes and cosmetics but not for aromatherapy in which you need the strong camphoraceous scent. Used in ancient times, the Romans added lavender to their bath water and, hence, the name from the Latin lavare, 'to wash'.
